Did
you catch Michelle's Disney special? It was different than her Mulan
special. I liked the little clips from her skating past towards the
beginning. Most of the costumes were beautiful. If you missed it,
here are the top 10 songs: (*
means Michelle skated to the song in the special.)
- *
Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King
- *
Reflection from Mulan
- Beauty and the
Beast from Beauty and the Beast
- *
Circle of Life from The Lion King
- I'll Make a Man
Out of You from Mulan
- Love Will Find
A Way from The Lion King: Simba's Pride
- The Age of Not
Believing from Bedknobs and Broomsticks
- You've Got a Friend
in Me from Toy Story
- Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
from Song of the South
- *
The Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book
Michelle also skated
to several other songs. To see all the songs that Michelle skated
to, go to the Disney page from
my Endorsements section.
Check
out this
page from Disney.com on Michelle's special! It has info and some
pictures from the special. Then, download a Sneak
peak video of the special from that page! (Thanks Diane!)
I went
to Ultimate TV's main page to see if they had the ratings for
Sabrina up. The ratings weren't there yet,but this
ad for Michelle's special was!
There
is something about Michelle's special in both of the tv papers that
come with the two papers we subscribe to! In the Philadelphia Inquier,
under "Best Bets for Friday," it has a closeup picture of Michelle
from the special. It says
Michelle Kwan
Skates to Disney's Greatest Hits A medaly from The Little Mermaid
and "He Lives For You" from the Lion King II are among the songs
in the skating special. Oksana Baiul, Ilia Kulik, and Elvis Stojko
join Kwan on the ice.
In the other paper (where
they only write about 2 shows each day), along with the bigger pitcture
from this postcard,
it says:
Disney on Ice
Figure skater Michelle Kwan is featured in the new special, "Michelle
Kwan Skates to Disney's Greatest Hits."
A little
mixup in Friday's USA Today paper. On page 10E, they have a special
section, Critics
Corner, where they tell you the best things to watch that night
(or, if it's on Friday, for the weekend.) This Friday, they had a
thing about Michelle's special. They have a nice picture of her from
the USFSA's press
conference during Nationals. Problem is, they list the special
as being on Saturday, the original date for the special. I hope they
reprint this next week, before the actual date of the special. Online,
they don't list the special, so they caught their mistake. Here's
what it says about the special,
The last thing TV
needs is another skating special, but, we'll make an exception for
Michelle Kwan Skates to Disney's Greatest Hits, because Kwan--besides
being a great athlete--is a class act. TV needs that.
In
the Feb. 27-March 3 issue of the TV
Guide, there is a closeup for Michelle's special on page 218!
There is a picture of Michelle in a costume from the special. Here
is what the closeup says:

as determined in an Internet poll.
Highlights include a sexy pairs routine with Kwan (wearing a feather
boa) and Olympic silver medalist Elvis Stojko (clad in black vinyl)
skating to "I Put a Spell on You" (from Hocus Pocus), and Kwan's
solo turns on "Reflections" ("Mulan") and "Circle of Life" ("The
Lion King"). Also featured are Olympic gold medalists Ilia Kulik
and Oksana Baiul, who pair up for the "Beauty and the Beast" theme.
All four skaters join in a swinging version of "Everybody Wants
to Be a Cat" from "The Aristocats."
Also, in under "Also
of Note," it says
